Configure your own garden room - specifications and information

MB Veranda allows you to put together your garden room completely by yourself, according to your own wishes and requirements. To get you started, we provide you with all the technical information needed to start designing your garden room. Below are the categories in which you will find the appropriate explanations and specifications.

Material

MB Veranda's garden rooms are made of low-maintenance aluminium type T6-6063, which guarantees a long service life. This type of aluminium is resistant to weather and moisture, and remains unaffected by UV radiation.

We chose the combination with 16-millimetre-thick X channel polycarbonate from Exolon. This lightweight material is strong, fireproof and has excellent insulating properties. In addition, MB Veranda uses 442 laminated safety glass, MU coating and solid uprights of 13.6 by 13.6 centimetres.

The galvanised steel gutter provides a load-bearing capacity of as much as 80kg per square metre. In addition, MB Veranda's terrace garden rooms are CE-marked, ensuring compliance with European building standards.

Style

MB Veranda's garden rooms are fully customised. Here, you can choose between the round or flat style. The characteristic uprights give a robust effect, fitted with a beautiful gutter. You are free to choose between a round or flat gutter. With square uprights and a flat gutter, the garden room has an even sleeker look. Colour

For the colour of your patio cover, you can choose from black, metallic grey, anthracite or cream white. The lighting can be in warm white, cold white or dimmable warm white. The wide choice of colours allows you to give the garden room exactly the look that suits your personal preference. Stylish and aesthetic in the combination you like. If you are in doubt, it is possible to request a sample pack through our friendly staff. You can then use colour and glass plate samples, polycarbonate samples and a comprehensive brochure to see which colour combination best suits your home.

Roof

MB Veranda gives you a choice between a glass roof or a polycarbonate roof. The specifications of both options can be found below.

Glass

Even when it comes to glass, MB Veranda makes the choice for high quality. For glass roofs, we exclusively use 442 laminated glass.

Dimensions

Would you rather do the assembly yourself and not use our free measuring service? Then take into account the height, width and length of your garden room. The available headroom can be calculated based on the wall height of your house. If you opt for professional installation by MB Veranda, we will support you optimally with our free measuring service.

Width:

Our patio covers are delivered completely made-to-measure. Of course, you can also use our standard sizes. These start at a width of 3.06 metres and increase by one metre each time; 4.06 metres, 5.06 metres, 6.06 metres, up to 12.06 metres.

Depth:

MB Veranda's patio covers are delivered completely made-to-measure. You can of course use our standard sizes; 2.5 metres, 3 metres, 3.5 metres or 4 metres deep. In fact, any depth up to four metres is possible with a glass roof. With a polycarbonate roof, the canopy could be made up to five metres deep. Shortening the depth may have some impact on the possibility of fitting sliding walls and doors. Ask our staff about the possibilities and solutions for your terrace canopy.

Height:

MB Veranda always recommends a height at the bottom of the gutter of 2.10 metres, 2.15 metres, 2.20 metres, 2.25 metres, 2.30 metres or 2.35 metres. These heights relate to the fitting of sliding glass walls, which must fit exactly under the patio covering.

Number of uprights

Precisely because of the high quality of our materials and the particularly sturdy construction of our self-produced garden rooms, fewer uprights are needed than with our competitors. Our terrace roofs therefore offer an unobstructed view and have a wide passageway under the garden room. The number of uprights depends on the width, depth, height and type of your roof. Please ask one of our friendly staff for advice.

Important: The number of uprights indicated is a recommendation for the strength of the garden rooms. With large garden rooms, there is the possibility that the gutter may sag slightly under the weight of the steel strip. However, this galvanised steel strip is necessary to give the gutter the required strength. This strip allows a load of up to 80 kg per square metre.

Accessories / LED lighting

With MB Veranda's LED lighting, you create a cosy atmosphere in the evenings and during dark days. We supply sets of 4,6,8,10 or 12 spotlights, with 3 Watt each. The LED lighting can be switched and dimmed using the remote control supplied.

Foundation

Because the foundation of your patio cover is important, MB Veranda uses a concrete tile under the posts. The posts are attached to this concrete tile and concrete mortar is then poured around them. This ensures that all the space is filled correctly, so you always get a precise fit. This precise fit ensures an excellent, solid foundation under your patio cover.

Maintenance

Cleaning and maintaining the aluminium frame and roof panels can be done with lukewarm soapy water and a cloth or sponge. Be sure to use a non-greasy soap. For your convenience and safety, we recommend using an extendable chamois for the roof. Never use abrasives or scouring pads and always rinse abundantly with clean water.

For locations near the sea and the resulting salty air, we recommend cleaning the aluminium frame at least twice a year. In other locations, where salty air is not a factor, once a year is sufficient. Always make sure the gutter is clean and free of leaves and other debris. This way, you will prevent blockages.

Entering the roof

When cleaning the roof or gutters, it is very important not to stand or walk directly on the roof covering. By placing boards with rubber mats underneath on intermediate girders, you can distribute the weight and avoid unnecessary damage.

Extending canopies

Your garden room can be extended with that which you need to create the perfect situation in the garden. Take full advantage of the opportunity to combine your garden room with MB Veranda's other garden solutions. By cleverly combining and putting together, your personal design will be a real asset to your garden. Possible extensions can be combined with garden rooms on the façade or free-standing.

Side walls and sliding walls

With the use of heat-resistant side walls or sliding walls, you can turn the patio cover you put together into a beautiful garden room. Full comfort and homeliness in your own garden is easily achieved with aluminium garden solutions from MB Veranda. The side walls and glass sliding walls work with an upper guide that holds the walls in place. You can choose from standard widths: 90, 93, 98 and 103 centimetres. The standard heights we supply are varied: 190, 200, 205, 210, 215, 220, 225, 230, 235, 240 or 245 centimetres. Do you prefer a different size to make everything fit together perfectly? This option is of course available at MB Veranda, at a small extra cost. A sturdy bottom rail keeps the sliding glass walls in place. The 10-millimetre-thick tempered glass is available in clear or tinted versions. With the possible addition of draught strips, you can create a very comfortable spot in the garden.

A garden room with all the trimmings

As described above, a beautiful garden room can be put together with some combination work. Our custom-made garden rooms are of high quality and equipped with T6-6063 aluminium, 16-millimetre thick EXOLON polycarbonate, 442 laminated safety glass and a MU coating of 80-100. With sturdy uprights of 13.6×13.6 centimetres, your garden room also has great load-bearing capacity and solidity. Choose the LED lighting that suits you and go for cold white or warm white, dimmable or not. With powder-coated rebates 2 cm thick, your garden room will soon be a beacon of comfort and privacy.

Build a garden room with the comfort of a sliding door

With a variety of options, you can turn your garden room into a real garden room or conservatory. The addition of a sliding door gives you the chance to be completely indoors while sitting outside. Our garden rooms are also fully customisable. Equipped with T6-6063 aluminium, 16-millimetre thick EXOLON polycarbonate, 442 laminated safety glass and a MU coating of 80-100, the quality and robustness is very high. The sliding door has a 10-centimetre-thick aluminium frame with 332 laminated safety glass and an excellent locking mechanism.
